Financial Management in the Canteen
A school canteen should operate as an efficient small business. These fact pages will assist you to monitor the financial position of your canteen and ensure sound financial management.
As featured in our Term 1 Members Magazine, the South Australian Government have developed a range of school canteen financial fact sheets and templates that you may find useful in your school canteen.
The move to a modern award over the last twelve to eighteen months has resulted in a number of changes for most canteen staff. Canteen staff have a new pay-rate structure, in line with the different classification levels in the modern award.
Additionally these modern awards include more frequent rest breaks and a few allowances previously not included in the premodern award, for example, the laundry allowance.
