Canteen Marketing and Promotion

Promotions may include planned theme days, meal deals, daily price specials or taste testing. Healthy Kids SCA Members will receive a handy events calendar in the February 2008 Members Magazine which gives lots of canteen promotion ideas. Information on how to become a member and membership benefits can be found in the 'About Us' section of this website.

The promotion of healthy foods can:
1. Encourage students to try foods that they may not have tried before.
2. Increase sales on the promotion day especially if parents are made aware of a special promotion.
3. Introduce new foods before they are added to the daily menu.
4. Raise the profile of the canteen.
5. Make the canteen a place students enjoy using.
6. Encourage healthy eating.
7. Increase awareness of foods on the menu.
