Common Mistakes Made by Food Industry Resulting in Unsuccessful Registration

  1. Product labelling not compliant with FSANZ Food Standards Code. Visit www.foodstandards.gov.au for the Code.EG: Ingredients lists not listed in descending order, nutrient content claims not substantiated.
  2. False or misleading representations. Visit ACCC and follow links to The Food and Beverage Industry – Food descriptors guidelines. www.ACCC.gov.au EG: Images of fruit or use of fruit names when fruit component in the ingredients is different to the fruit image, name or flavour.
  3. Inappropriate serve sizes EG: a bottled drink or single portion packaged food containing more then one serve such as a can of drink.
  4. Products not labelled with a Nutrition Information Panel (NIP).  This has been the case with foods intended for use in catering establishments which by FSANZ do not require NIP’s. All products submitted for assessment at HK require a NIP on every product not just the final reconstituted product.
  5. Insufficient samples received. EG: One sample of a single product line in one flavour when four different flavours of the same product line are being registered.

Lunch Crates

I am looking at replacing our lunch crates. We currently use 28litre plastic 'toy' boxes, but these have a very short life, splitting and breaking very easily.
