Fundraising

Why healthy fundraising?

Australia is facing an epidemic of obesity and overweight in children, which has more than doubled in the last twenty years. Making the choice to raise funds in a healthy way is one way school communities can play a part in tackling this problem.

8 reasons for healthy fundraising:

1. Makes money for your school while promoting health and wellbeing.
2. Provides the personal satisfaction of a positive role model.
3. Shows your school community that you care about children’s health rather than profit alone.
4. Gives the same messages about health that children learn in the classroom.
5. Involves the whole school community (students, parents, teachers and other staff).
6. Fundraisers will often be a ‘friend’ raiser and a ‘fun’ raiser in the school.
7. Supports the Fresh Tastes @ School NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
8. May be run as often as you like.

Lunch Crates

I am looking at replacing our lunch crates. We currently use 28litre plastic 'toy' boxes, but these have a very short life, splitting and breaking very easily.
