2011 Competition Winners
On Friday 28th October, the winners of the Fruit 'n' Veg Month 2011 competitions were drawn. This year, there were three different competitions, an individual student competition, a class competition and a family competition.
The student competition saw students across NSW become sensory detectives. They used their senses to test a wide range of fruits and vegetables. The classroom competition required classes to monitor their fruit and vegetable consumption and record it in whatever format they wished. The family competition got families cooking together to make their favourite meal, which included extra fruit or vegetables and submit their recipes.
All competition entries received by Healthy Kids, were entered into a prize draw, with winners selected at random.
The student competition received 445 entries. Three winners were selected and they each received a Fridge2Go lunchbox.
Three winners were also selected from the classroom competition entries and they each won a set of five different sports balls for the school (netball, basketball, soccer ball, AFL ball and rugby ball).
There was one winner drawn for the family competition and they won four passes to Jamberoo Action Park on the south coast of NSW.
We were overwhelmed by quality and quantity of competition entries and would like to thank everyone who entered and worked so hard. It was amazing to see the amount of work produced by students during Fruit 'n' Veg Month as well as all the mouthwatering recipes from the family competition.
We hope to be able to make use of the family recipes in the future.
Thanks again to all who participated in Fruit 'n' Veg Month 2011. Keep 27 August - 21 September 2012 free for Fruit 'n' Veg Month 2012!
